We provide Lactation Consultations both in our office and in the mother's home.

Initial consultations will usually take 2 hours and include some or all of the following: Maternal Health History; Infant Health History; Review of Previous Breastfeeding Experiences; Birth History; Feeding History; Infant Weight Check (pre and post feeding weight checks if appropriate); Physical Assessment of Infant (including oral assessment); Breast Examination; Observation, assistance and instruction of infant feeding as appropriate (breast, bottle, syringe, supplemental nursing system, cup, etc.); Observation, assistance and instruction on expression of breast milk (hand expression and/or pumping) if appropriate; Creation of feeding plan; Suck training or other exercises as appropriate;Documentation of visit provided to primary care physicians for mother and baby; Appropriate referrals as needed and Recommendation for follow ups.

Follow up consultations generally take 1-2 hours.

Fees: $195 for Initial visit and $165 for follow ups
Home Visit Travel Charge: $55 for the first visit, $35 for follow ups
Multiples: Additional $35 per visit

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®) is a healthcare professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. An IBCLC is certified by the [International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®)] (http://iblce.org), independently accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE).

We are an in-network provider with most Aetna plans and will bill Aetna for your visit. However, Aetna does not cover the extra fee for a home visit, so Aetna clients will be responsible for paying home visit travel charges. Aetna clients will also be billed for any copays, coinsurance or non-covered services.

Phone or Video Consultation

Private phone or Skype consultation with an IBCLC. This service is billed at $75 per hour. This service is appropriate for mothers in areas that do not have qualified lactation support. It is also appropriate for the following:

• Parents want to learn baby massage/reflexology and simple, fun ways to engage baby in tummy time
• TummyTime! Instructor can offer tips for helping babies be comfortable and relaxed
• Babies and Parents enjoy class time social interaction
• Baby may have a head turning preference to one side and/or flattening on back of head, which can make it more challenging
