These consultations are recommended for any breastfeeding parent who would like more education and support, those experiencing breastfeeding difficulties (latch pain, milk supply issues, infant colic/reflux/gas, etc.), and those who would just like to have someone check to make sure that things are going well. These visits are offered as in office, in home or virtual visits through telehealth.

As IBCLCs we are trained in all forms of infant feeding and breast milk production. We fully support families who choose to bottle feed, exclusively pump or exclusively formula feed. We understand that these families often face similar feeding challenges to those families who choose to exclusively breastfeed. Visits for these issues *may* be able to be be billed to selected insurance plans (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare) or families may choose to cash pay for these services.

Even if you don't live in Houston, or if you cannot have an in-person visit, we can still help We offer virtual visits worldwide using our HIPAA compliant video conferencing system Spruce Health. We can help with everything from latch issues, to milk supply, to pumping, to oral restrictions (tongue tie), to back to work, to introducing solids and even weaning. Selected insurance plans accepted from Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS), Cigna and UnitedHealthcare. Visits are billed on an hourly basis and are scheduled for 1 hour.

Some BCBS plans (such as UT Health and TRS Activecare) put restrictions on the type of provider you can see for lactation services, how long after delivery the services are provided, and the locations they will cover (in home, office, outpatient, in hopsital). Please contact your insurance company and ask if lactation visits must be provided by a nurse practitioner, MD or Midwife, and ask if they have any limitations on locations or how long after delivery they continue to cover lactation services. If BCBS denies your claim for any of the above reasons, they apply the full fee to payment responsiblity and you will end up paying out of pocket for your visit. TRICARE covers six (6) one-hour Lactation Visits. TRICARE clients will have a $14.98 coinsurance for each visit.. The initial visit is broken into 2 visits on 2 seperate days to allow for the necessary time to provide comprehensive support. Please make sure to book BOTH PARTS of the Initial Visit when scheduling. Both visits are REQUIRED to provide the level of care our clients have come to expect. We have 2 certified TRICARE East providers, but are not IN NETWORK Providers. We can only see TRICARE Prime members with a referral.

TRICARE covers six (6) one-hour Lactation Visits. TRICARE clients will have a $14.98 coinsurance for each visit, plus an additional $35 fee for multiples (total $49.98 per visit).. Chiropractic and Myofacial Therapy (bodywork)
During a bodywork session, the provider will use gentle movements, gentle pressure, massage and gentle manipulation of the baby’s soft tissues and fascia to identify and treat areas of tightness or weakness. Generally, the bodyworker will do a full body assessment of the baby and will move the baby through different positions during the exam. You may be provided with exercises to do at home. We do NOT currently accept insurance for bodywork appointments
